Hamara Sankalp is a national level, voluntary, non – profit organization established in 2001 with an aim to provide help for reducing poverty and improves the quality of life in rural India. Its goal is to empower individuals and communities to take care of themselves, and eventually help them become self-sufficient. In order to be self-reliant, it is essential that development is multidimensional. This comprises five key programs: Skill development and training, income enhancement, rural health, and entrepreneurship development.
At the grassroots level, these programs are implemented by a dedicated team of field workers from the villages themselves, who work closely with the local bodies. Personnel on the field receive support from a team of experienced and highly qualified professionals based at the National Co ordination office (NCO) in Delhi. Both the field workers and the NCO’s team visit the villages on a regular basis, to interact with the communities and involve the people in all key decisions.
Hamara Sankalp is also working towards the betterment of the artisans and craftsman of rural part of India. It works extensively on issues and challenges faced by artisans and craftsman in the local, regional and national level.
